Biography
Dr Phan is currently a postdoctoral research fellow at Menzies Institute for Medical Research, University of Tasmania (UTAS; 2018-) and a casual research officer at Monash University (2019-). She obtained her MBBS at Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine (2012; top 10% of the class) in Vietnam. She holds a PhD degree in medical studies (UTAS; 2018) after being awarded a competitive Postgraduate Scholarship through UTAS. She has experience in Vietnam working as a clinician in a public hospital and a university lecturer in public health at PNTU (2012-).
Her expertise is in epidemiology of cardiovascular diseases, particularly management and outcomes of stroke. Dr Phan has expertise in cohort studies, meta-analyses of individual participant data, disease national registry using linked data, and quality improvement programs. She has excellent analytic skills and ability to initiate and build cross-disciplinary collaborations in research.
