Biography
A/Prof. Yijiao Jiang is the Chair of Macquarie University (MQ) Women in Engineering and Associate Editor of the Frontier in Nanotechnology. After completing her PhD at University of Stuttgart, she worked as postdoc at ETH Zürich from 2008 to 2010. Yijiao was awarded UNSW Vice-Chancellor’s Research Fellowship in 2011 and ARC Discovery Early Career Researcher Award (DECRA) in 2012, which was jointly hosted by Lawrence Berkeley National Lab. Since joining at MQ in 2014, she has secured competitive research grants from the ARC Industrial Transformation Research Hub with Rio Tinto and JITRI, ARC DPs, the EU H2020 etc. Currently Yijiao is leading a dynamic research group with 1 ARC DECRA Fellow, 1 postdoc, 7 PhD students, and 6 UG thesis students. Her research interests mainly focus on the development of better thermal-, photo-, and electro-catalytic systems for green chemical processes, renewable energy production and environmental protection.
