Biography
Soheil completed her degree in Mechanical Engineering and worked as a professional engineer in Oil & Gas industry. In 2016, she received a Business and Industry scholarship to pursue PhD in Civil Engineering at UoN. Completing her PhD, she was appointed as a research associate, focusing on improving buried pipeline designs and optimizing mine safety berms. Since earning her project management diploma in 2022, she has been working as a project engineer, working on various mining and construction projects across Hunter region. Soheil is passionate about inspiring young women from diverse backgrounds to pursue careers in STEM. She has been advocating for diversity in the workplace through volunteering activities with a variety of organisations including Engineers Australia and HunterWise. She is currently the chair of Women in Engineering Committee and an elected member of Newcastle Division Committee.
