Biography

Dr Scarlett Howard is a postdoctoral research fellow funded by the Fyssen Foundation. She is working at the Experience-Dependent Plasticity in Insects (EXPLAIN) Team in the Research Center on Animal Cognition (CRCA) with CNRS - Université Toulouse III - Paul Sabatier (Toulouse, France). Her current research involves examining the neural basis of simple and complex visual learning in honeybees. Her previous research examined the numerical abilities, visual perception, illusionary perception, and extrapolative ability in honeybees. She is also involved in projects relating to pollination, vision, and complex urban interactions. Her work on honeybee cognition and pollination spans between collaborations in Australia and Europe. Scarlett has previously worked at the Bio-Inspired Digital Sensing (BIDS) Lab, School of Media and Communication, RMIT University and the School of BioSciences at the University of Melbourne.
