Biography
My background is in human pathology and medical research with a PhD in translational medicine. I have really enjoyed exploring the role of mitochondrial quality and function in complex disease processes including diabetic kidney disease and Parkinson's disease.
I currently work on bioimage analysis and enjoy working with new and emerging technologies that can help reveal the complexities of our cells. I have developed skills in AI assisted reconstruction techniques for 3D electron microscopy images. This includes using and optimising a range of open source software, working with and developing code for image analysis and computer vision and finally animating the results with Blender!
I support open science and hope that we can foster equitable access to science and technology across the globe.
