Biography
My main project is focused on non-photosynthetic Cyanobacteria. I'm interested in where they are found, how they function and their evolution. I also study marsupial microbiomes and how the microbes in the marsupial gut are able to break down their food.
I am passionate about providing women in science (especially EMCRs) with equal opportunities, science outreach and mentoring. I was a UQ Women Create Change Ambassador for the SAGE Pilot of Athena SWAN, I've presented on the koala microbiome on SCOPE TV and I gave a specialist lecture for the National Youth Science Forum on my career path.
