Biography
I am a senior principal research scientist and team leader at CSIRO Oceans and Atmosphere. My research is focused on improving scientific understanding and developing options for sustainable marine resource management, particularly in relation to national and international fisheries, threatened, endangered and protected species and marine biodiversity at national, regional and global scales. I collaborate nationally and internationally connecting multidisciplinary teams to undertake large-scale assessments of the marine environment having lead and mentored teams producing the marine thematic chapter of Australia's State of the Environment Report (2016, 2021) and being part of the leadership team producing the United Nations World Ocean Assessment. I have been part of the Executive Planning Group and Interim Decade Advisory Board for the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development and have been a co-chair of the Climate Impacts on Marine Predator Regional Programme.
