Biography

Dr Joanne Shaw is a psycho-oncology and health communication researcher with experience in the development and evaluation of psychological interventions, particularly for patients with cancer and their families. She has expertise in the development and evaluation of communication skills training for health professionals related to sensitive and emotional HP-patient interactions such as breaking bad news or discussions related to mental health. Her current research is investigating models, quality and costs of evidence-based psycho-oncology interventions. She has expertise in both quantitative and qualitative research methods.
