Biography
I am a clinical psychologist and psychology researcher who is passionate about improving emotional and health outcomes for a range of people. My research focuses on looking at how thinking styles can influence how we feel and how we respond to our environment. My interests include
- Understanding and treating co-morbid mental and physical health difficulties such as anxiety and pain
- Exploring when worry can be an adaptive motivator of behaviour, or when it is unhelpful
- Understanding the role of cognitive processes (thinking styles) in contamination fear and the experience of disgust
- Understanding how thinking styles and emotion play a role in health behaviour and health difficulties, such as alcohol consumption and sleep difficulties
