Biography
Dr Kaczmarek is the senior systems scientist at the CSIRO Parkes Observatory, home to Murriyang, the 64-m Parkes Radio Telescope. She received her undergraduate in astrophysics and physics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and was awarded her PhD in physics from the University of Sydney for her work on extragalactic magnetism. She has held postdocs both at CSIRO in Australia and DRAO in Canada where her work has focused on building, commissioning, and operating different aspects of radio astronomy observatories. Dr Kaczmarek is an active member of multiple regional and national committees and programs that focus on encouraging and mentoring students to pursue STEM fields.
