Biography
I’m an environmental scientist specializing in issues relating to water quality of aquatic systems in agricultural landscapes. My particular expertise resides in ecosystem biogeochemistry, with a focus on hydrological monitoring, carbon and greenhouse gas accounting, and development of quantitative models to solve environmental issues. I have designed, managed, and executed a number of research projects across a broad range of sites, both in Australia and Canada, and frequently engage with the media, public, and scientific communities. I actively seek out opportunities to conduct interdisciplinary research to further understand terrestrial-aquatic and human-environment interactions in ecosystems. Currently, my research looks into the broader ecological importance and services provided by artificial aquatic systems that play a critical role in water resources for agricultural landscapes.
