Biography
Dr Fiona Willer, PhD, is an Advanced Accredited Practising Dietitian (AdvAPD) who combines academic research, university lecturing, non-executive board directorship and public speaking with creating professional development resources and training for health professionals through her business, Health Not Diets. Her research areas are dietetic private practice benchmarking, inter-professional learning and the integration of weight neutral lifestyle approaches (including Health at Every Size® and the Non-Diet Approach) into the practice of health professionals, particularly dietitians. She currently serves as a Board Director for Dietitians Australia and has had previous board roles for the Association for Size Diversity and Health USA (ASDAH, as Vice-President International) and HAES Australia Inc, a non-profit organisation that supports HAES-informed health professionals, educates the public in Health at Every Size (HAES) and advocates for the provision of weight neutral care and an end to weight stigma in healthcare. Fiona has authored two Non-Diet Approach guidebooks for health professionals, developed materials for the private and public sector and is a sought-after speaker at academic conferences and professional development events. Also the creator of the innovative Unpacking Weight Science professional development podcast, Fiona has great enthusiasm for both interrogating weight research and overusing food and eating metaphors in everyday life.
