Biography

I am a Geoscientist with wide experience in areas of Geochemistry, Mineralogy, Hydrogeology and Environmental Science. This experience has been gained through collaboration with universities and the mining industry in Australia and Iran.

Innovation and finding practical and efficient solutions are the essential key driver of my motivation in any role, therefore I am excited for joining the Division of Research and Innovation at the University of Adelaide and working with the Research Services team as the 'Researcher Support Manager (Post Award), currently.
I have an extensive knowledge and experience in impact assessment of waste rock dumps and tailings on mine water quality; and in wastewater treatment research projects in particular phytoremediation of Acid Mine Drainage (AMD) at one of the world’s largest porphyry copper mine, Sarcheshmeh, in Iran. I enjoy solving the challenges in remediation of contaminated soil and water.

Recent roles include Management of PRIF Mining Consortium Program and important contributions to an Australian Research Council (ARC) discovery project, focused on mineralogy of Iron-Ore Copper Gold deposits. In addition, I have been involved in geochemical assessments for mine developments and closure planning. Scoping, costing, data analysis and reporting were integral to my recent roles.

I have an extensive experience in Health, Safety and Wellbeing. Safety (HSW) coordination, laboratory management and mentoring/tutoring featured in prior roles.

Beside my professional and personal development, I enjoy formal coaching and mentoring graduates, sharing my career and professional development experience and undertaking volunteer roles. I am a committee member of AusIMM and WIMnet.

Outside work, I am participating in art programs, and I am a member of Royal Society of Arts South Australia (RSASA). I present my oil colour paintings in the renowned SALA Festival and online platforms (bluethumb).
