Biography

I am a medical research scientist anchored by discovery research and driven to translating these into commercial outcomes. I have been involved in the whole research pipeline from managing scientific research projects at the preclinical and clinical stages to clinical trial design and strategies for commercialisation.

For 20 years I have been immersed in the health and medical research sector, driven by a desire to deliver research outcomes to patients with chronic disease. I have a passion for career development having supervised and mentored over 20 students and staff. I take pride in my ability to create effective and high functioning teams. My interpersonal and relational skills are my key strengths and I love nothing more than to empower my team to create positive solutions.

My overall drive for research excellence is reflected by a strong publication record and my ability to effectively communicate to a wide variety of audiences - acknowledged by both national and international awards. I am a strong advocate for gender equality for women and have a particular interest in promoting mothers in the science and health sector.

When I’m not managing scientific programs you’ll find me advocating for others! As founder of BD stemm strategies I specialise in academic career management.
