Biography

I am currently investigating the epidemiology of childhood diabetes in Western Australia.  Her main research studies relate to identifying risk factors for childhood Type 1 Diabetes, and better understanding how and why diabetes develops in some individuals and not others. I have keen interest in the developmental origins of health and disease, with a particular focus on factors during pregnancy and early life that may influence immune system development and disease pathways in later life.

What factors in our modern environment are increasing the risk of immune mediated diseases?
