Biography
Alex is the Senior Vice President at Northwest Healthcare Properties REIT, the largest specialised healthcare REIT in ANZ.
Previously, she served as the Chief Business Development Officer at Ramsay Health Care, overseeing a portfolio of hospital assets valued at approximately $8 billion.
Alex is a member of Chief Executive Women and has been appointed by Science and Technology Australia to drive the national STEM agenda. Additionally, Alex serves on the Precincts Committee of the Property Council of NSW.
Alex is recognized by the International Academy for Design and Health for her contributions to healthcare design. She has also conducted research on preventing invasive fungal disease during construction, which was published in the Internal Medicine Journal.
Prior to joining Ramsay in 2015, Alex was an equity partner and Associate Director at a global project management firm. As co-founder of the company’s NSW operations in 2010, she led over $3 billion dollars’ worth of hospital infrastructure projects.
Since winning a National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) Award in 2008, Alex has appeared on ABC Radio and industry panels promoting the advancement of women into senior leadership positions in STEM.
As a member of UN Women Australia, Alex is passionate about reversing the underrepresentation of women in leadership and political participation globally.
Alex works as a mental health awareness advocate with R U OK? Day and Beyondblue. Her work relating to quality processes to prevent invasive fungal disease during hospital building works was published in the Royal Australasian College of Physicians’ Internal Medicine Journal in 2015.
Alex holds a Masters of Construction Management, and a Bachelor of Planning and Design (Property and Construction) from the University of Melbourne, where she later taught. Alex has undertaken executive education at Harvard Business School.
