Biography

Alana is the Founder and Head Science Lover at Eye Heart Science – a fast growing science education business based in Sydney. Alana is passionate about all things science and inspiring children to think critically and adopt a problem solving mindset. Having completed her undergraduate degree in Medical Science and then a PhD in Immunology; Alana commenced her career within a small biomedical company, then progressing to hold senior positions within the pharmaceutical industry at Novartis and Astra Zeneca.

Outside of work, Alana volunteered her time under the Scientists in Schools program where she brought her passion for science and education to primary school students. Through this experience, Alana identified an opportunity to establish Eye Heart Science to provide engaging science workshops to schools and directly to kids. Eye Heart Science believes in challenging the status quo of education by providing bespoke programs, workshops and camps designed to prepare the next generation for a rapidly changing future. It is estimated that 75% of the jobs of the future don’t exist today. Alana loves to read; cook (and eat!); and is passionate about sustainability. She also loves spending time with her husband and 3 children.
